Position: Director, Principal Designer
I originally started my career as a licensed plumber. I knew I had found my passion for my career in hydraulic design when I was an apprentice. I remember looking at the plans we were issued and using my design training at TAFE in apprentice modules, I was able to find better ways of doing the same task. While working for a large commercial plumbing contractor on the Gold Coast I was also attending TAFE studying the Diploma of Construction Hydraulic. With that knowledge base, I wanted to work in a different area of the construction industry.
I took on a role as a plumbing inspector at the Pine Rivers Council. This part of the Brisbane area was a major growth corridor, learning the approval and inspection process was a valuable component in the work that we now offer at Water Wise Design. It’s important to us that we can assist the process when our clients deal with Councils, we want to ensure that this process is seamless and no issues arise.
After completion of my studies I then went onto work as a hydraulics consultant for a major hydraulic design firm in Brisbane, working on projects such as Palm Towers, Dubai, one of the tallest residential buildings in the world. This role showed me a lot about designing solutions to problems and being innovative.
I eventually settled on the Fraser Coast and the team and I have enjoyed completing many projects in this region for our clients. We can also provide hydraulic design and fire protection systems to Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia as well as outlying Queensland towns.
